Fresh Cherry Fruit Punch Recipe
July, 2015 · By Coryanne Ettiene
There is something quintessentially summer about fresh sweet cherries. Those red stained fingers and juicy smiles that practically beg you to keep eating, and when cherry season comes around anything that stands still long enough gets a cherry make over. Including our recipe for family punch, made all the more summer with this fresh cherry fruit punch recipe. Traditionally punch is made with 5 ingredients and packed with sweet, sour, and aromatic flavors. But when I’m mixing up a family drink, all my children ever care about is how fruity it is, so I take liberties with a traditional punch recipe and put my own spin on it. This recipe for Fresh Cherry punch is a genuine family affair, from the pitting to the sipping. Isn’t that what summer is about?
I recently teamed up with Sam Henderson to create a punch video for Stemilt on my AOL channel. When we set off to make this video, it was the perfect day to film outside and follow up with a punch sale. Only the wind took hold, and a construction crew arrived to repair our road. But that was not going to get on our way, even Sawyer who is typically camera shy wanted to get in on the fun. Little did we know that this quick little video would take us hours to complete…as it turns out, trying to film outside in the wind and with the constant drum of traffic crews is not for sissies. I sat in this spot for hours waiting for 30 seconds of silence, if we ever create an outtake, this is the one that will have you in stitches. But in the end, we had a great time. I mean, how could we not with all this fruit punch within arms reach?
We love using world famous Stemilt Cherries because they are big, bold and juicy, making for a more heavenly refresher on a hot summer day. If there is any left over, freeze it… it makes the best ice pops evahhhhhhh. Or if it is 5pm, far be it from me to stop you from adding a splash of Bourbon to it.
This fresh cherry fruit punch recipe is one that you can play with to create your own summer cooler. For a tall pitcher that serves 4-6 simply add all the ingredients, stir and serve over ice:
- A handful of fresh cherries, pitted
- 2 apples, sliced and cored
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1/2 a lemon, sliced
- 1/2 a lime, sliced
- 1 Cup of cherry syrup
- 8 ounces of sparking water
- 8 ounces of fresh apple juice
- 8 ounces of cranberry juice
